Create a controlled view register

Give every planned view a stable number and plain-language name. Record its zone, event to observe, view purpose, expected obstruction or lighting risk, and person responsible for validating it. Group the register into property-specific zones. Avoid forcing four cameras into each zone merely for symmetry. A zone with more important events may need more planned views, while another may need fewer. Mark overlap intentionally: continuity between zones can be useful, but accidental duplication wastes a view.

Plan the handoff before installation

Define what evidence will show that each view performs its stated job. A validation list can include a current image at the intended viewing condition, confirmation that common obstructions do not defeat the view, a privacy-boundary check, and a final name matching the view register. Do not include passwords, activation codes, private network details, or unrestricted camera views in a general planning document.
